Frequently
asked questions.
Question: I suspect that my current lender is not paying the property
taxes even though they are collecting the tax money from me every month
along with my loan payment. Is there anything I can do?Answer: It is very
unlikely that your lender is collecting the property tax money from you and
failing to pay it. Your lender has as much interest in seeing your taxes
paid as you do - neither of you want the home foreclosed upon. First, check
with your local tax assessing office. If indeed the property taxes are in
arrear, then contact your lender. It could be something as simple as a
computer glitch. If after doing that you still are not satisfied, click on
your state in the list below. We've posted contact information for the
appropriate regulatory office for each state.
